Andrea Israel is a television writer/producer who has worked in the industry for more than 25 years. With the bulk of her career spent in news, where she expended a lot of energy swimming against the tide of negativity, it became a personal goal to find uplifting stories. This is why, as Senior Editorial Producer at Rock’n Robin Productions, she is thrilled to help further the company’s mission of creating original, inspiring programing with a positive message.

Andrea has worked on ABC’s Focus Earth and Good Morning America (which garnered her an Emmy Award), CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360, and NBC’s Dateline. She also wrote the cooking show The Main Ingredient on Lifetime.

As a fiction writer, Andrea co-authored The Recipe Club: A Tale of Food and Friendship (HarperCollins), which has been featured on Good Morning America, The View, in People magazine, and has been published internationally. In addition to selling more than 100,000 copies to date around the globe, the novel started a nationwide movement of Recipe Clubs in which people share their true-life stories of food and friendship.

Andrea’s nonfiction articles have appeared in major publications. Her story, “In Donald’s Eyes,” the tale of a young boy who witnessed his mother’s drowning during Katrina, whose life was saved by an unlikely friendship forged after the storm, has been optioned for a film.

Andrea has an M.A. in Creative Writing from NYU. She has been a resident at The Millay Colony for the Arts and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.
